The Unusuals is described as a comedic procedural. Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn, as in the morning Casey Schrager is a vice detective working undercover as a hooker by the Lincoln Tunnel and later finds herself a part of the homicide squad because she is considered one of the few honest cops and Lt. Little wants to clean up the precinct. As Casey gets to know her new co-workers she discovers that each one has their own sense of humor and their own secrets. Sgt. Brown has the hots for Det. Beaumont. Det. Delahoy has a brain tumor but wants to die in the line of duty. Det. Banks just celebrated his 52nd birthday and is afraid he won't make it to 53 because that's how old his father was when he died. Det. Cole is very religious but seems to have had a shady past. Casey herself has her own secrets, she grew up as a member of New York's high society and didn't like that money can buy justice. 1.01 Pilot Original AirDate: April 8, 2009 Summary: Det. Casey Shraeger was working in vice until a fellow officer is murdered. She is quickly moved to homicide to help investigate the murder, and find out if he was crooked or not. Casey begins to find out some interesting facts about her new co-workers. ~~Screencaps~~ 1.02 Boorland Day Original AirDate: April 15, 2009 Summary: A family of criminals has the detectives running all over the city until Walsh and Shraeger discover their motives and negotiate a stop to all the crime. Brown has Shraeger investigate Walsh's past because her former partner turned out to be a dirty cop. Meanwhile, Cole's former partner in crime returns, making it even more difficult for Cole to continue to hide his criminal past. ~~Screencaps~~ 1.03 One Man Band Original AirDate: April 22, 2009 Summary: Banks and Delahoy investigate a store selling murder weapons and instructions on how to get rid of the body. While hocking her jewelry, a man and woman rob the store and take the watch that Beaumont borrowed from Walsh. When the same woman robs a wedding dress shop with a different man, Shraeger and Walsh take up the search for the 'crime slut,' whom Beaumont desperately wants to find before they do. Meanwhile, Banks and Delahoy search for a missing man who was pronounced dead right before he vanished. ~~Screencaps~~ 1.05 42 Original AirDate: May 6, 2009 Summary: Cole receives a disturbing call from Lutz, who believes Walsh knows he killed Kowalski and is on his way to Walsh's diner. Lutz poses as a customer and strikes up a conversation with Walsh before pulling a gun and firing. Lutz escapes and Walsh discovers that one stray bullet went through the diner into his apartment, striking Beaumont. Cole fears for his future as Walsh and Casey begin to uncover pieces of his past relationship with Lutz. Meanwhile, Banks continues to be haunted by the number 42 while he and Delahoy investigate a string of bus robberies.
